warning…annoying crowds to descend on my neighborhood in 10 days. Otherwise known as the latest apple store.

I used to go through at least a case of sparkling water/seltzer a week, because it’s pretty much the only thing I drink. Then I wised up and bought one of these to make my own. I’ve already saved a ridiculous amount of money.

This weekend, when I wasn’t traipsing all over Roosevelt Island with the 365-ers, I was at a giant food expo for hours on end handing out samples of these cakes (it’s my dad’s company). They are soaked in liquor, which makes them very, very awesome.

and yes, my feet are killing me.

I will hopefully have snapped out of the mindset that causes me to try to feed these to everyone who comes within 3 feet of me by tomorrow.

photo walk: roosevelt island

11/8/2009

Yesterday, the plan finally came together for a few of the folks from my 365 flickr group to meet in real life and walk around roosevelt island. Which is a really weird place that I have never been to before. Here are the rest of the pics. as always, click to get the full picture.

I took too many pictures and have to do a serious edit, but these stood out amid the unending grey 1960s soviet-style architecture of roosevelt island.

I spent the day today inside this building helping my dad sell cakes as part of a holiday food event. Actual cake pictures to be uploaded only if/when we figure out which ones came out OK.

I’ve so far successfully avoided any prescription medication for my very infrequent but awful migraines, but I do have no less than 3 of these bottles sitting on my desk. If I take one “in time” (meaning, as soon as my hands start going numb and my vision gets wonky), I can usually avoid the worse/worst symptoms.

365:64 (little annoyances)

11/4/2009

I am still working my way through the backlog of transitcheck metrocards that I got through work, but since I don’t use them as fast as "expected" my backlog includes a bunch of cards that are from before the fare change. Meaning that I now have a collection of cards with less than 1 full fare on them. I plan on taking them to a subway clerk to consolidate, but this is still really annoying.

if you ever see me wandering around nyc, chances are, I have these on my head. they serve both to deter people from asking me questions (although it doesn’t always work) and to let me listen to the massive backlog of podcasts I’ve got stored on my iphone.
