I&#8217;ll be off tomorrow afternoon at a Seder at my (step-) aunt&#8217;s house in Westchester.<\/p>\n<p>I was actually doing a bit of research as to why Passover was so late this year (ordinarily, it falls right around Easter), because my whole 3 years of Hebrew School back in the 80&#8217;s apparently never covered the subject.  It turns out to be a function of the wacky lunar jewish calendar.  Which forces a leap &quot;month&quot; every 7 years.  But instead of making up a new month to toss in there (or, you know, conforming the calendar to the actual rotation of the earth), we just, apparently, duplicate the month of Adar.  And some holidays (like Purim) get to be celebrated during the &quot;first&quot; month of Adar, while others (like Passover) get to be celebrated during the second.
